March 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag

March Ipsy Bag- Kessler

My March "glam bag" is here! If you're completely confused, then read my post explaining what ipsy is and why you should subscribe to it.

Each month is a different theme and ipsy often pairs with artists and creatives to collaborate on the design of the glam bag. This month's theme is "Create" and was a collab with illustrator @pcwitte! This bag includes two markers so you can color on the bag yourself- so fun!

Now to the amazing goodies inside my bag! I can't stand waiting to see what I'll be getting, so I always look at the app before my bag arrives. I was so excited to finally get all these products!

(all photos are my own)

1. INT Cosmetics- eyeshadow in Goddess Gold

My favorite part about this eyeshadow? It is cruelty-free! Not all products ipsy sends are cruelty-free, but I'm happy to see more and more each month that are. This shadow is AMAZING. It goes on creamy and pigmented- two things that all shadows should be. The shimmer is beautiful, it blends nicely, and is the perfect shade. I love golden eyeshadows!

The only thing I was bummed about was that it came a bit messy- as you can see in the photos.

2. Tarte Sex Kitten- eyeliner in black:

Tarte is a well-known brand and one that I love. I have a full size tarte bronzer from ipsy and it is one of the best products I've ever gotten! They are cruelty-free and even have a vegan-friendly collection which includes this eyeliner! (It should be noted though, that their parent company, Kose, is NOT cruelty-free.) I haven't worn black stick eyeliner since my wanna-be goth phase back in my teens, but this is some high quality makeup. It won't get much use in my everyday makeup routine, as I like to keep things simple, but it is a nice little liner to have for those nights I'm feeling fancy.

3. Contour Cosmetics- lip liner No. 4 JUJU

Another cruelty-free brand! Noticing a trend? I don't wear lipstick often, but lip liner is a must when I do! This shade is perfect for me because of it's subtle, natural color. Of course, this shade might not work for everyone. It goes on smoothly and doesn't feel dry. I might actually start wearing this as part of my daily (low-maintenance) routine since it is such a natural color for me.

4. VENeffect- pore minimizing cleanser

Yes, that's right, VENeffect is cruelty-free, too!

I've used this once, so I'm not the best judge of it. It smelled like cucumbers and was a nice texture. I didn't have makeup on at the time so I can't say how well it would wash it off. I have small pores already so it didn't make a difference in that way. Not my favorite, but smells good!

5. Glossier- Balm Dotcom in Rose

I have been DYING to try Glossier products, but have never bought any. I did a little happy dance when I saw I would be getting this product in my glam bag! Bonus: they're also cruelty free! Yay! This particular product is kind of an all-in-one. They call it a "universal skin salve" which can be used as a lip balm, cuticle moisturizer, or can be used to re-hydrate dry areas like elbows. The rose scent has some serious vintage vibes that make me feel like a rich, classy lady from back in the day.

A special bonus this month: Free markers to color in the bag itself!

ALL 5 products in my bag this month were cruelty-free! I haven't checked with every bag, but I do know they don't exclusively use cruelty-free products. I have noticed they've been more upfront about products that are cruelty-free, so they seem to be going in the right direction.
