May 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag
After a not-so-great April Glam Bag, I retook the quiz on ipsy so they had a better idea of what I liked and wanted. Luckily I did, because it had been months since I last updated my preferences. I was so happy to get mostly skincare items this month! I've been loving the 10-step Korean skincare regimen and getting skin care samples from ipsy is a great way to try out new brands.
If ipsy is new to you, read my post explaining what ipsy is and how it works- here!
1. Ven effect- micro-exfoliant
As you saw in my March ipsy bag, I got this same brand in a facial cleanser. The cleanser was just alright, but this micro-exfoliant is wonderful! It has such a fine grit and lots of it, so it really feels like it is doing something – unlike some "exfoliants" that are just micro-beads.
2. Adesse New York- Gel effect nail polish in bellini
I updated my preferences to include items for nails and ended up with a beautiful neutral pink nail polish. I have used it once and love it! It's a nice color and seems to stay on better than some other polishes I've tried.
*cruelty-free, vegan, and non-toxic!
3. pureheals- centella green tea mask
I rarely use masks- mostly because I don't make time for them. This one is such a nice texture and made my skin feel amazing. It can be used as a full wash-off mask or as a spot treatment. There is also vitamin C in this mask which is something I value in my skincare!
*NOT cruelty-free :(
4. First Aid Beauty- ultra repair hydrating serum
This serum is wonderful! I always welcome serums in my ipsy bags because they're easy to swap out each day in my skincare routine. This one is incredibly moisturizing and has a great gel texture. I use it as a step in my skincare routine AND I have also used it as a primer before applying makeup. It could be used on its own as well if you want to give your skin a quick re-hydration! (Plus, it contains hyaluronic acid!)
5. Tréstique- mini matte blur stick
This was an interesting product I was eager to try. The reviews were great and the before/after pictures ipsy showed were unbelievable (probably photoshopped, so definitely unbelievable). It definitely is "mattifying", but it makes my foundation flaky wherever I use this stick. Not the best product for my foundation, but it may work well with others.
*cruelty-free status unknown
FREEBIE! Pureheals- Propolis 80 cream
Each month you can earn points by reviewing your products in your glam bag and sharing it to social media. You can also earn points by referring friends! I used 500 points to get this propolis cream! Read all about ipsy here.
According to ipsy's description, this cream is"infused with antioxidant-filled propolis extract (a therapeutic natural mixture created by bees), which helps improve your skin’s elasticity and texture." Propolis is great for your skin and will help give you that *glow* everyone wants. I will probably buy a full size once this deluxe sample runs out! I truly love this product!
